2024 GDUFS Graduation Ceremony Livestream
A two-day livestream production for the 2024 GDUFS graduation and degree-conferral ceremonies, delivered with seven camera positions, cinema-grade equipment, and multi-platform distribution.
From June 25 to 26, 2024, XinChuan Studio completed the livestream for the GDUFS 2024 graduation and degree-conferral ceremonies. The project spanned the gymnasiums of the north and south campuses and involved a larger ceremony scale, more complex venue conditions, and a tighter run of show.
During pre-production, the team broke the work into camera planning, signal flow, role coordination, platform distribution, and contingency handling. The venue setup used seven camera positions, including aerial coverage, and cinema-grade Sony FX9 and FX3 cameras to cover degree conferral, speeches, graduate movement, and the atmosphere of the ceremony.
On site, the directing desk had to manage multiple video feeds, live audio, ceremony cues, and platform output at the same time. Key graduation moments cannot be repeated, so the team used rehearsals, run-of-show anticipation, and clear role assignment to turn uncertainty into controllable plans. Unexpected situations during the livestream were handled without compromising broadcast stability.
The livestream was distributed to WeChat Channels, Nanfang Plus, Bilibili, and other platforms. On the first morning, WeChat Channels drew more than 60,000 viewers, 135,000 likes, and nearly 3,000 peak concurrent viewers. Nanfang Plus and Weibo recorded a combined 88,900 clicks, and the Bilibili stream once reached fifth place in the platform’s lifestyle livestream heat ranking.
As one of the studio’s recurring graduation ceremony productions, the 2024 project strengthened XinChuan Studio’s method for major university ceremony livestreams: reduce on-site risk through careful planning, protect long-form execution through clear roles, and turn each production review into capability for the next broadcast.
