XinChuan Livestream Team Successfully Delivers the 2026 GDUFS Graduation Broadcast
From June 26 to 27, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies held its 2026 graduation ceremonies and degree-conferral sessions. Multilingual flash-mob singing set the tone, the lively “Greater Bay Chick” mascot drew warm reactions as it moved through the venue, and energetic dances brought the ceremonies to a bright, celebratory pitch.
The ceremonies were streamed in full through the official WeChat Channels accounts of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and GDUFS Student Affairs. Across two days and four degree-conferral livestreams, the broadcasts delivered an impressive set of results: more than 240,000 cumulative views, 302,000 likes, and 2.081 million livestream impressions. The first University Town campus session drew nearly 18,000 views and 19,000 likes; the second drew nearly 20,000 views and 43,000 likes. At the Baiyun Mountain campus, a single session reached 87,000 viewers, 112,000 likes, and 744,000 impressions. The two Baiyun Mountain sessions together recorded 122,000 views and nearly 6,000 livestream shares. Behind those numbers was the all-out effort of the XinChuan livestream team.

The XinChuan livestream team comes from XinChuan Studio, part of the School of Journalism and Communication at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Founded in December 2017, the studio focuses on audiovisual content planning and production, new media marketing, and hands-on technical practice. Backed by the school’s strong talent pipeline, the studio has built a high level of practical capability in both multi-camera livestreaming and video production.
Major campus ceremonies play an important role in shaping the university’s public image. Several weeks before graduation, the livestream team began its preparations in earnest. Members held repeated project meetings, weighing and clarifying every detail: how should the camera positions be arranged to capture the solemn moment of tassel-turning? How should the flash-mob dance and the “Greater Bay Chick” mascot sequence be directed so online viewers could feel present in the room? How would signals be transmitted, how should cuts be timed, and what contingency plans were needed? In one focused discussion after another, every detail was tested, questioned, and refined.
During rehearsals, team members worked long days from early morning into the night. They walked the venue again and again, adjusted equipment, rehearsed movement, and refined coordination with exacting standards. That insistence on craft was what made the graduation broadcasts smooth, stable, and visually polished when the ceremonies began.

On ceremony days, the four broadcasts spanned two days and two campuses. From University Town to Baiyun Mountain, team members stayed on station for long hours, keeping every frame precise and every second of signal stable. At the switcher, fingers moved quickly across the controls; behind the cameras, eyes stayed fixed on viewfinders and framing. No one complained, because everyone shared the same sense of purpose: this was more than a record of an event. It was a gift to the Class of 2026, a grand final keepsake from their university years.
After the livestreams ended, the team did not simply pack up and move on. They held a post-project review while the experience was still fresh, examining the strengths and shortcomings of each broadcast. From technical details to workflow management, from team coordination to emergency handling, the goal was to turn every lesson into growth for the next production. That pursuit of excellence is the force that keeps XinChuan Studio pushing beyond itself.
From its first steps in 2017 to its present ability to independently deliver real-time multi-camera directing and multi-platform distribution for major events, XinChuan Studio has proved itself through one high-quality project after another. The 2026 GDUFS graduation broadcast stands as a strong demonstration of the School of Journalism and Communication’s talent development. The outstanding livestream results belong to GDUFS, and also to a young production team shaped by dedication, sweat, and care.
From equipment to technique, from experience to attitude, XinChuan Studio records youth through the lens, carries warmth through professional craft, and lives out the responsibility of young media makers through its passion. In the future, this team will continue to step onto stages both on and beyond campus with sharper skills and fuller energy, writing the next chapter of its own story.
